We drove past many old landmarks and discovered that as much as the area has changed there is still a lot that remains the same, at least in our memories. Considered going to Nick's for a burger, but knew there would be lots of food booths at the festival.
After that, we drove to the park to explore the arts festival. It was something I did with friends and sisters long ago, but it is much bigger now. This time, I loved walking around holding hands with my best friend and talking about everything we saw.
There were hundreds of eye catching pieces, lots of aromas, delightful music, interesting people to chat with, and the sounds of clanking of swords. We browsed hand-in-hand for a number of hours, ate buffalo, tasted potato lefse, had our SDSU ice cream, and went from comfy to sweaty as the morning progressed. What more could one as for on a summer date? (A cold bottle of water, remedied the sweaty attitude.)
If you were looking for jewelry, sparkles, lawn ornaments, clothing, trinkets, and such this is where you should have gone. There were some woodworking booths, but only two that were along the lines that we want to sell. There was one interesting booth that had benches and chairs made out of old bed frames, doors, etc. The pottery was gorgeous, the carved gourds were very pleasing to my way of thinking, The food was delicious!
Life is GOOD!
