July 8: Party time

This was our Saturday project - making banners for the walls.  Zoe, Henry, Great-Grandpa
and I colored this one.  The paper was supposed to be the self-sticking kind, but at the last
moment we needed to add the painters' tape.  The grandkids thought it made the banner even more
special since blue is Great Grandpa's favorite color.

The candles are the relighting kind.  Henry said, "Hey what's
going on here."  They blew and blew.  When Kevin took the
cake in the kitchen to remove the candles Henry followed
concerned that they still had fire in them.

We celebrated Dad's 80th birthday with his siblings, spouses, and in-laws.  Yes, it was a party in his honor, but he was in the thick of preparations through it all.  He helped shop for the groceries, he vacuumed the stairs, he washed up all the cooking dishes, he colored part of his party banners with the great-grandkids, he peeled cucumbers, he skewered kabobs, and when everyone left, he was right in there doing the dishes.  It is impossible to have him sit when there is work being done, even when it is in his honor.  lol

Uncle Dick, in the middle, is the oldest brother, then comes Dad, followed up with David. These guys all have quite the sens of humor so laughter is the order of the day when they are together.

Life is GOOD!
